How the Override-tab works

live demo
explanation

effect is used to indicate any of the effects from the collection. Read it as the effect you are using.

Font color override

  • In [ Parameters ] -Tab select a color for the font
  • Go to the [ Override ] -Tab
  • Click the + button to add a range of characters to define
  • Enter e.g. from 3 to 8 in the input fields (meaning letters 3 to 8 from your complete text)
  • Click the color(selector) and select a color different then the one chosen in the [ Parameters ] -Tab and then click the checkbox next to it to activate the color override for this range
  • Click [Done]
  • Now test your movie through menu Control - Test Movie, letters 3 to 8 should have a different color then the default color

Font type override

  • In the Library, open MC "letter" in the effect-clips Folder you use,
  • in frame 2 of layer "lettervalue" add a new keyframe and change the font type in this keyframe (not in frame 1) Check if you need to repeat for "letterX"
  • Go back to timeline with effect on stage, in custom UI go to the [ Override ] -Tab
  • Click the + button to add a range of characters to define
  • Enter e.g. from 5 to 14 in the input fields (meaning letters 5 to 14 from your complete text)
  • In fontframe input field type 2 and click the activation checkbox next to it to activate the color override for this range
  • Click [Update]
  • Now test your movie through menu Control - Test Movie, it now should be using a different font for letters 5 to 14.

You can make different ranges or combine them or use one for both color and font, any way you like... just remember that changes are in listed order... lowest last (e.g. if you define 2 same ranges, e.g. letter 2 to 6 with font 2 and after that another range letter 2 to 6 with font 3 then font 3 will be what is used)
